Competitive Team Info

The focus of GCYS Competitive program is the development of the individual player. The goal is to maximize the development of the individual through training that challenges each player, a coaching staff that adheres to high standards and fair play. GCYS is resolute in dedicating its time and resources to the technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of playing soccer. For more philosophy information, click here.

GCYS will be conducting open tryouts each year for all of our boys and girls Div II competitive teams. The announcement of annual tryouts will be made via our website, www.gcysoccer.org. For more tryout information, click here.

Are you interested in playing/coaching Competitive Soccer?  If so, click here for expectations and commitment information.  Fill out the following forms and send them to Richard "Bear" Stark or any of the members listed below by May 28, 2008.

Summer tryouts for the 2008-2009 U-11 to U-18 boys’/girls' teams are in the process of being scheduled. If you have interest in trying out for one of our boys'/girls' teams you may print, complete and bring the Tryout Registration Form and the Medical Release Form to the tryout sessions where they will be collected by the coaching staff.

GCYS Tryouts Rules and Information

  • All players must check in only on their first day of tryouts.

  • All players need to wear their tryout number everyday.

  • All players need to bring a soccer ball.

  • All players must wear Shin-Guards.

  • Tryouts will run for 1 ½ hours.

  • Players should bring plenty of water.

  • Players must attend everyday of Tryouts for their respective age group.

  • Parents are not allowed to be on the fields.

  • One White and One Black Shirt Needed (2 shirts).
