Schedule has (need coach) by
team names, did not have name available when making
schedule. Coaches are still being found for teams
Games need to start and end on
time. No warm up on the field. Teams ahead of you
finish, step on and start play. Please work with the
other coach to keep us on schedule.
DO NOT run over game time.
Remember, BAYSA has a Zero
Tolerance policy this year and while there are no
refs for these games, please work with the other
coach and remind the parents if there is a call
missed, forget about it move on. These are
scrimmages to assess your teams; not whether you
score or miss an opportunity to score.
Do not let the kid's play get
out of hand, call the games a bit tighter than
U8 coaches need to be on the
field with the team. Get a parent to help with the
kids on the sideline if needed.
Make sure everyone plays as
much as possible, do not get caught up in the game.
Go in with some type of game plan on subbing players
Lets not worry about a foot
coming up on throw ins just play on. Again these are
short games and we want the kids to play as much as
Kids on one side of the field
for games parents on the other. Try to put the kids
playing on fields back to back together for quicker
transition from game to game. Make the parents move
When the game is finished,
please get off and move to another location away
from the field if you need to talk with the kids.
The next game needs to start on time
If kids do not have a uniform,
that is OK. Please have them wear a shirt of the
same color or pennies.
Keepers must have a different
color shirt or wear a penny.
If a game is getting out of
hand for some reason, please help curve the game by
moving players back to mid field for goal kicks
(U10) - U8 have to be a mid field by rule, have the
other team add a player, etc...
MAKE SURE THE KIDS have a good
time. NO yelling at them, let them play. If they
make a mistake, take notes to work with that child
in practice on that issue. You may find more than
one child is doing the same thing. This goes for mom
and dad as well. Remind the parents prior to the
game to let them play and not coach or yell. All
positive comments. Don't be the coach the kids hate.
In short, if I missed something
just play, take notes on your team and let the kids
have a good time.
All regular league rules apply
unless noted here differently for the scrimmages
