Minutes on Line
Officers Reports
President: BAYSA minutes reviewed. Spring schedule discussed. Request for assistance was turned in to STYSA for help to rebuild the Galveston fields, but still no response from the state. Possibly have a “field day” where we as a group, work on an assigned field to help get them back into condition.
Treasurer: Comparison for YTD for 2008 and 2007. 3% cash position increase in 2008 from 2007. Cost of uniforms down $457.00 from 2007. BAYSA fees, Tryout fees, and trophy and medal fees down from 2007. Report discussed for 2008 YTD.
Coaching & Development: All Coaches must be licensed this year if they coached last season without a license. The club would like to have Coaches at least at a lever E to coach U-11 and above. If there are enough Coaches that need to be licensed the club will consider having a class in-house. There is more information regarding clinics for coaches on STYSA’s website. Player’s clinics are still being planned. Website will have further updates.
Registrar: Teams need to turn their rosters and notify Pam if they plan on playing in the spring. Teams should come in as a team and just play the team fee. Possibility of registration happening in each city for the 2009 season.

Uniforms: No problems to report at this time.
Parks: Galveston fields still need a lot of work after Ike. The fields are not a priority for the City of Galveston. The club needs to Lease agreement that we have with the city. Santa Fe field 5 needs to not be used for a while. The recommended field for use is Field 1 or Field 3. Field 3 has lights and there are portable lights available if you wish to use them for field 1. There are still no lights on the Texas City Bay Street fields. There has been given no date for when these will be repaired. Again, there are portable lights available for use.
Scheduler: No games to schedule currently. Fields for the Spring season will be determined after teams are formed. Please schedule more games on SF Field 1 instead of 5. U-12 will go 8V8 this year along with U-11. This format will be in place until U-13.
